Loudest turbo I have ever heard

I was driving to a meeting, when a ford pulled up next to me, I had my window down cause it was a nice day. when this guy took off, not trying to race, his turbo was so loud that I had to roll up my windows and slow down to not go deaf from it.

Anybody know what kind of turbo is that loud. I mean seriously, I am not sensative to sound but I was like "DANG" what did he do to that.

I am going to get a new turbo in the far future, and I dont want one that loud.

It was a Ford, sounded like a 7.3 at idle but the whine from the turbo was so loud I really couldnt tell.

Was it an 03 turbo, they are lous straight piped. i hate the sound of mine, thank god its comming off soon........

it was dark red top and black bottom. My buddy has an 05 6.0 with straight pipe and it wasnt even close. this was litterally an ear piercing whine. I was on Greenback lane in sacramento. it was like I put my head right next to the siren on a fire truck. it was something aftermarket. Didnt know if ya'll knew which turbos were that loud.

That was soo long ago but it is still extremely vivid in my memory. It sounded a lot like that, but even when he got on the throttle the turbo still completely overwhelmed the sound of the 6.0 rumble. I still to this day, have never heard anything even remotely close to it. Not even the large twin setups come close.

Are we talking '03 7.3 or '03 6.0? I thought that '03 is the year they switched over but then I'm kinda clueless as far as 'strokers go.

I sure would like to know what that loud turbo was, be nice to put it in a cummins. As far as I'm concerned they ain't no such thing as a turbo too loud....
