I picked up an 06 GMC Duramax...... super clean, super loaded and priced right. Actually could not pass up the deal........ I will have to say this, its a awsome ride..... smooth and quiet. Rides so nice :D  So much nicer than I was used to (03 FORD CC :eek:). My really near future mods are a efi live or ppe-hot, stage IV trans, cp3 mod, air dog, better exhaust and gauges......... only pic I got is in my avatar. I will give it my cleaning a detail and post some pictures.......

Nice, Congrats on the new ride. Is it an 06 (LLY) or 06.5 (LBZ)? On the top of the motor pass side, it will have a FICM (big square metal box 6"x6"x2") next to the intake filter. If it does it's an LLY, if Not it's an LBZ. The CP3 mod is not necessary. I had enough fuel to run 11.80 on the stock pump and it still held 25,000psi., It's all in the tuning. Don't waste your time with PPE, you will just end up with EFI Live in the end. There is so much more you can do with EFI (live DTV, tuning, logging, trouble shooting, DSP-5, ect.). I'll be at Nor Cal Truck next weekend, shoot me a PM if you want to put a small (100hp) tune in her for now.

yes I want the tune... PM me your number and cost..... I was told if the 8th digit is a 2 its LLY and if its a D it LBZ... mine is a 2 so I assume its a LLY.... is this true

Well, I don't see a box like that next to the intake cleaner, there is a 6x6 mounted on the driver side behind the IC area......... I will have to do some more checking........... you have a PM for the efi live

It's on the motor to the left of the alt. Here is a pic from a customers LLY I have here. The box mounted next to the IC on the drivers side is the TCM, under that is the ECM!

Ok, I will check...... dang I got to learn these things now.......... first was a cummins :D, then a 6.0 :eek: and now a duramax :cool::D

totally different ride from a ford or dodge....way more comfortable.

I dont doubt that you will, get that tranny done and tune that SOB and you will be golden.

cats off. trans go jr goes in tues.... efi live 125 tune in tomorrow...... then baby it for 3 months and add the lift pump and the stage iv trans.....

so I got the efi live 100hp tune loaded today... Thanks RPM...... found out i have the LBZ too.... so that was great news...... going to get my lift pump, stage iv trans and egr block done in a month or two...... should be running good then :D
