Going with industrial, Got a good hook up. Just need to see if I can get a HPOP for a good price, that will tell me how large of injectors I can go. studs will go in at the same time, along with a better IC and tubes. all controlled with custom tunes either by SCT or wildman. will do the turbo if it is too smokey otherwise it will wait. tranny is still limping along, it wont break, but when it does, it will get a reman with some upgrades. going to be really tight on the money but if this C.O. job comes through I wont care. For all this work maybe I should just get a cummins. IDK...

HPOP, get the adrenalin, it is the best for the money invested otherwise termy.

Hybrids for injectors.  You can run hybrids on a stock 17* HPOP, a lot of guys do and make upwards of 475hp.

Tunes from Tony at a minimum but NOT sct.  Look into PHP, DI or Swamps to keep things together on the higher side of power.

Your stock trans is going to puke on you with these mods.  You say a reman with upgrades, what upgrades.  Unless the guy says it will hold 500hp and will guarantee it at that level, don't waste your  money.  It will cost you in the long run. I want through three $3700 transmissions before I went with a $4300 that is still going strong with an extra 200hp than with the other transmissions.

Just plan on a turbo now.  With the mods you are talking about here, you are going to obliterate your stock turbo in short order.  Been there, done that.  This is what too much fuel and over speeding a stock turbo does.

One last thing, what year is your truck?

Keep Strokin'

Interesting option from dieselsite is their hpop overdrive unit installed inline with a stock pump.  Seems to be an effective low cost optiion.

I have Terminator #17 installed in my truck with all of the latest mods that terminator has.  ( He's local in Modesto).

BTS and John Woods are generally considered to be as bulletproof as it gets for trannys for power levels as high as a 7.3 can get.

So do I.  Had one shipped out and installed my BTS E4OD over 80K ago behind my 400hp+ 7.3 in 2003.  And BTS has offered to update it to the latest specs for my new SHO BD injected and girdled 7.3 for a VERY nominal cost.

2002 has powdered metal rods.  Substantially weaker than the earlier forged rods.  With older type tunes, 400 hp or so is limit on horsepower.  With later specialized tunes, closer to 500hp  or a little more is possible without holeing the block.  Stage II or detuned hybrid injectors are the practical limit to preserve the block or swap out to factory forged rods or aftermarket billets for higher output.  Turbo size would be something like a GT-38R, a modded H2e, QSSB or simular.  Good luck.... Not everyone is as lucky as kainers...:D
